ASHIKAGA FLOWER PARK

| The park contains eight thematic gardens delighting visitors with beautiful flowers all seasons. Must-see sights are the four large wisteria trellises in full bloom around late April and early May. The giant 130 year wisteria tree was first located at the Hayakawa Farm of Horigome-cho in the midst of Ashikaga City but due to the urban developement plan of Ashikaga City, the jumbo wisteria tree was moved to the present site of Hasama-cho, Ashikaga, suburban areas of the city in 1997 and became the symbol of the newly opened park. Besides the wisterias, visitors can enjoy azaleas in full bloom at this time of the year. Visitors at the park are also recommended to call at Kurita Museum. They have great collections of Imari and Nabeshima wares. Location is just across the train lines of JR Ryomo Line from the flower park. Giant Wisteria Festival: Accoring to the garden, the wisterias are putting flowers earlier this year and in full bloom as of April 15, 2018.
